Our Story

Save the Children has worked in Ecuador as an independent non-profit organization since 2004. The Country Office of Ecuador transitioned to join the global movement Save the Children International on September 1st, 2012. Under the new constitution, a unification process has started of the operational, financial and organizational structures of Save the Children Spain and Save the Children UK respectively; both organizations members of the worldwide movement of SAVE THE CHILDREN INTERNATIONAL, comprised of 30 member organizations working in more than 120 countries. Countries that are not members are implementing countries, Ecuador being one.

The constitution as country office involves legal and formal recognition by the Technical Secretariat for International Cooperation (SETECI) in Ecuador as a duly accredited International Cooperation organization.
